Intermediate Computer Technician

Technique Microsystems is looking for an intermediate computer technician. If you're addicted to technology, enjoy solving problems in a casual environment and consider being called a geek a compliment, then you might be the person we are looking for.

Overall responsibility
Provide customers with computer and network support and assist senior technicians with complex cases.

Key areas of responsibility

  • Provide customers with first level email and phone support for popular applications, operating systems and hardware.
  • Initiate support cases and work with vendors on behalf of customers.
  • Gather information and research specific issues to assist other technicians.
  • Troubleshoot and repair computer hardware.
  • Prepare new systems including hardware, operating systems and applications.
  • Perform routine IT maintenance tasks for customers remotely or on site including inventory of hardware and software, application installation, patches and updates, etc.
  • Keep detailed logs of service activities.
  • Update knowledge base and customer records with current information.

Qualifications

  • Strong sense of customer service
  • Good command of the English language
  • Able to clearly communicate technical information
  • Good problem solving skills
  • Good organizational skills
  • Able to work independently or with a team
  • Industry certifications are an asset, but experience is preferred
